Darksiders: Warmastered Edition parental review

Darksiders: Warmastered Edition is a fantasy action adventure game in which the player assumes the role of War, one of the Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

VIOLENCE: The player must frequently fight fantastical enemies such as demons using bladed weapons and firearms. There is frequent sight of spurting blood and the player can deliver gruesome finishing attacks, which include decapitations, though not with much graphic injury detail. There is also the option to bloodily slam enemies into the floor, but again there are no very strong gory images. Overall, the violence and gore is frequent but fantastical and due to the fast pace of the gameplay there is not time to dwell on infliction of injury.

The player can also choose to kill humans, but unlike the fantastical enemies there is no dismemberment when this happens.

The cutscenes also contain some violence. In one cutscene War jumps onto a huge creature and rams his sword in its eye. The creature roars in pain and dies, blood streaming from the wound.

OTHER: There is moderate language, including b*tch.
